Ken Kerrigan Joins The Bliss Group as Co-Leader, Professional Services Practice

30+ years of expertise as client, counselor, author and teacher

Leading-edge marketing communications agency The Bliss Group announced the appointment of Ken Kerrigan as Senior Vice President and co-leader of the firm’s Professional Services Practice Group. In this role, Ken will share responsibility with Keri Toomey for spearheading public relations and communications programs for professional services clients, driving growth, and overseeing strategic counsel.

“Our firm started in professional services 47 years ago, and it has remained a priority ever since,” said Bob Pearson, CEO of The Bliss Group. “We appreciate Ken’s experience as a client, counselor, author, and teacher. This range of experience is important as we build services and teams who will continually increase value to our clients.”

An award-winning reputation counselor and storyteller, Ken brings more than 30 years of experience, including former roles at Weber Shandwick, Hill & Knowlton and Edelman. For more than 10 years, he was a director on the Americas Communications and Marketing team at Ernst & Young. Ken is a board member of the New York chapter of the Public Relations Society of America, and for more than a decade he has been a faculty member at New York University, where he teaches classes in rhetoric and communications management to graduate students in the school’s Public Relations and Communications master’s degree program.

“From winning the ongoing war for talent to establishing trusted relationships with stakeholders, professional services firms are facing a set of unprecedented challenges and opportunities as we enter a ‘new normal’ for business,” stated Kerrigan. “The winners will be those who find ways to engage with their target audience across all media channels, while telling a story that defines and differentiates their business strategy, mission and values from the competition. The award-winning professional services team at Bliss is primed to do just that, and I couldn’t be more excited to partner with Keri Toomey and the rest of the agency to help make a difference for our clients.”

Ken is the author of Our Future in Public Relations: A Cautionary Tale in Three Parts. He holds a master’s degree in Communications Management from the SI Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
